This Sunday I will be looking to the English Premier League and I have picked the game between Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa. For me, Aston Villa have been one of the positive surprises of the season so far and I will be backing the Birmingham outfit in my bets today. Nottingham are not having a good season, while Villa are having a very good season and this is a very simple analysis. Of course, there is always a little more to it than that, but I had a good feeling about this one and I will now explain to you why.

Unai Emery = success?
The name Unai Emery will be familiar to football fans, and his most successful period was with FC Sevilla in his native country, where he won the Europa League. Emery has been in charge of Aston Villa for just over a year now, and since his arrival the club has gone from relegation trouble to Conference League football. Villa average 1.93 points per game, which is outstanding in the Premier League. The biggest transfer of the summer was Moussa Diaby from Leverkusen, who has made an immediate impact on the island. Other notable signings include striker Olie Watkins, who has 5 goals and 5 assists to his name. Villa have won at Chelsea, beaten Brighton 6-1 and beaten West Ham 4-1 in the last two weeks.

The squad looks very mixed and it is perhaps telling that former Union player Taiwo Awoniyi is their top scorer. Aston Villa are playing really good football and I really like them at the moment. Nottingham are struggling at the moment and the quality of Diaby, Bailey, Watkins and Douglas Luiz will come through in the end.
