FootballOn 10.12.2024 Shakhtar Donetsk will meet Bayern Munich. The match will kick off at 9 pm and will take place in the Veltins Arena (Gelsenkirchen).
It is the 6th matchday in the Champions League. Only 3 games left until the end of the new format of the preliminary round. Bayern Munich is currently in 13th place and will certainly try to reach one of the first 8 places because these entitle them to direct qualification for the round of 16. The remaining 8 will play off for places 9-24. Shakhtar Donetsk, on the other hand, would be happy if they could at least finish 24th, but they are currently 26th with 4 points. Perhaps it's also a problem that they don't have any real home games. The Champions League games are played in Gelsenkirchen. Again, the squad isn't really strong and I don't think they'll stand much of a chance against Bayern. I'm expecting Bayern to score a few goals and I'm betting on Bayern scoring over 2.5 team goals. By the way, the last time they met was 9 years ago in the last 16 of the Champions League. Bayern won the second leg 7:0.
