Football tips: Paderborn v Schalke
A new year, a new Schalke managerial sacking. I don't know the exact figures, but it seems like every year I read that Schalke have sacked their manager and Mike Büskens has taken over as caretaker. I can still remember when Schalke were in the Champions League with Manuel Neuer in goal. The days of Raul and Huntelaar were also legendary, but things have been really bad for a few years now and the question is when the turning point came. However, I will not stray from the subject and will return to the football predictions. I think Schalke have a good chance tomorrow, so I am backing the Double Chance X2.

Paderborn suddenly relegation candidates?
I remember the beginning of the season when there was a bit of a hype around Paderborn, not least because of the signing of Max Kruse. But Kruse is still injured and after 7 games the team is on the 15th place with 8 points. Place with 8 points. Last week's 1-1 draw with Magdeburg was a very poor performance and the 1-1 goal was very sloppy. Also because of that, I think Schalke will get at least a point here, if not even a win. Paderborn really do not scare me.

Who will be Schalke's new manager?
If I were a Schalke fan and could choose a coach, I would probably go for Breitenreiter. He did a good job at Schalke back in the day and was also very strong in Switzerland with Zurich. I still remember the first game of the season against HSV, when Schalke played well but lost 5-3. Baumgartl's comments after the St. Pauli game were inappropriate, but he seems to have been right. The quality is still there.

My Paderborn vs. Schalke prediction
You may be aware of the unwritten rule that a new manager always wins his first game. I am not pinning my hopes on that, but perhaps the team will play a little more freely and in a more 'now we can' manner. I am not trying to make Schalke's season any better than it is, the 1-1 against Wiesbaden was a real embarrassment. But it is still Schalke, with some players who played in the Bundesliga last year. These fans deserve better and a point in Paderborn is in the bag.
