Novoline Casino review

Kevin75 | 09. December 2022

On a cold November evening, I decided to test an online casino once again. This time it was the Novoline online casino. Most people know Novoline from Novomatic, the developers of the popular Book of Ra games, which are produced by the aforementioned company.

Novoline is operated by BluBet Operations Ltd. in Malta and is one of the newer players in the online casino market. BluBet Operations Ltd. is a subsidiary of Novomatic and therefore very closely linked to the parent company. The company currently has a relatively small team based in Malta, while Novomatic is headquartered in Gumpoldskirchen, Austria and will employ nearly 21,200 people in over 100 countries by 2021.

The Novoline Online Caino offers popular slot games from ORYX, Greentube and Novoline, among others. Slots such as Lord of the Ocean, Faust and Burning Wild are already included. Other providers are said to be following suit.

The provider has chosen not to use a special slogan or mascot for its new online casino, which I did not find distracting.

In addition to well-known slot games, Novoline has also won over popular payment methods such as PayPal. You can find out exactly how deposits and withdrawals work in the 'Deposits & Withdrawals' section.

However, you won't find any sports betting at Novoline. The focus here is exclusively on slots, including the 5-second spins that have recently been introduced at all providers with a German licence. I look forward to telling you about my experiences with Novoline.

Personal experience

A few weeks ago the online casino Novoline really took off. With its famous name alone, it has a clear advantage over the other newcomers. It was high time to get my own impression. Even before registering, the welcome bonus caught my eye. This is a hefty 200% up to €100 bonus. This bonus must be wagered a total of 25 times before it can be converted into real money. I'll explain exactly how the welcome bonus works in the Bonus & Promotions section.

In general, I liked it so much that I took advantage of it in my review. But first things first. Before I could activate the bonus, I first had to register. Basically, the registration process at Novoline is similar to other sites. I have summarised what Novoline requires in detail and a few tips for you in the "Registering with Novoline" section. As always, I have chosen a monthly deposit limit of 1000 Euros.

A higher limit is not possible due to the new German licence. Too bad, but there's nothing you can do about it!

As I have often done in my previous reviews, I chose Mastercard as my deposit method. My deposit of €100 appeared in my account within seconds and I combined my first deposit with the 200% welcome offer. The first thing that stands out is the low 25x multiplier. With €100 in real money and €200 in bonus money, I started playing the slots and was looking forward to Bally Wulff / Gamomat and Novomatic.

Classic launch - Book of Ra for the first time

As mentioned at the beginning, the return of Novomatic games like the Book of Ra is a real win for the German gaming market.

At first I played with my real money. As soon as the real money is used up, the bonus money is broken in. It's just a second chance if things don't go well at first. Apart from the classic Book of Ra, there are others like Book of Ra Deluxe 6 or Book of Ra Deluxe 10. As you know, I prefer the classic version. The other two versions of Book of Ra have different multipliers, which are certainly just as much fun. In the end, the average return to player (RTP) is still the same. For me, it was supposed to start with 1 euro spins. Unfortunately, I looked in vain for the autoplay button due to the new policy. Fortunately, the spin button also works with the space bar on my MacBook.

The Book of Ra is a classic Egyptian slot machine that can be found in many online casinos and landbased casinos. The following symbols pay the most:

  • Explorer
  • Golden Books
  • Mummy
  • Birds
  • Spider

When the golden books appear, you also get 10 extra free spins, including a bonus symbol. The whole experience is similar to Play'n GO's Book of Dead, which could easily pass for an excellent copy of Book of Ra. If you open the 'Paytable' option, you can take a closer look at the various payouts. You can find it at the bottom, right next to the spins button. I saw my first win on the third or fourth spin! The golden books with the mummy scatter symbol were awarded to me! Yay! That cracked me up! What a dream start. I looked down at the screen in awe, looking forward to the 10 Freespins to come. The beauty of Book of Ra Freespins is that the bonus symbol substitutes for other symbols to create even more paylines. To make a long story short, at the end of the freespins I was up 260.25 Euros! That was unbelievably good!

La Dolce Vita - a slice of Italy

For Italy lovers like myself, this machine is a must. Bally Wulff / Gamomat released this 5-reel slot in 2017 and it is a beautiful homage to the land of the boot. As well as beautiful vineyards that resemble the mountains of Tuscany, you will find various winning symbols in the slot. These include a bottle of olive oil, antipasti and a wine barrel. Across 10 paylines you will find scatter and wild symbols that will lead you to the biggest wins. When you see the charming houses of Tuscany, it is a good sign for you. 3 houses trigger 10 free spins, 4 houses trigger 15 free spins and 5 houses trigger 25 free spins.

Combinations of the following symbols pay the most:

  • Wine barrel
  • Dog
  • Bread & Salami / Olive oil
  • Wine bottles

For me it was to start with a huge buffer (262.55 euros real money + bonus money). I played spins on one euro, hoping for the above symbols.

As La Dolce Vita is a rather low variance machine, regular small wins are virtually pre-programmed. In principle, low variance slots are excellent for converting a bonus, but this was not relevant to me at the moment. After a large number of spins, I was left with small wins and my balance shrank a little to €239.20 + bonus money. Time for a break and a change!

Fancy Fruits, give me seven!

Fancy Fruits is a classic fruit-based slot machine! Bally Wulff / Gamomat have created a machine that will make the hearts of nostalgics beat faster. There are no free spins or scatter symbols here. Even the paylines are old school. Just 5 paylines ensure that your bank balance grows with attractive winnings. After years of changes and new features, Fancy Fruits is like a modern version of the very first slot machines.

The following symbols offer the highest payouts in the following order:

  • Sevens
  • Watermelons
  • Raspberries
  • Grapes
  • Oranges
  • Lemons
  • Cherries

To win, the symbols must appear at least three times in a row, except for the cherries. These are already a small win in double.

So now it was time for me to start, as (almost) always I bet one euro per spin. You get used to the lack of an autoplay button after a few spins. After about half an hour, I started to make some small wins, but also lost a lot of money on my bets. I ended up with a balance of around 400 euros, 200 of which was real money and 200 of which was bonus money. I thought about it and finally decided to make a withdrawal for testing purposes and to cancel my rather attractive bonus. I was a little sad because the bonus terms and conditions seemed very fair.

usability

In terms of design, Novoline is clearly a classic supplier without any experiments. Even on the home page you will find a familiar layout. At the top left you can see the Novoline logo, which distinguishes Novoline from other providers, and next to it you have the option to switch to the bonus offers. The colours are rather dark, which I like.

At the top right of the screen you can either register or log in. In the top middle section of the homepage, Novoline uses sliders that move a little too fast for my liking. Fortunately, you can move the four sliders manually using the small buttons at the bottom. This is where bonus promotions or general information about Novoline is announced.

Scrolling down a little further brings you to the games. This is divided into the following sections:

  • Book of Ra Games
  • Newest Games
  • All Games
  • Games by Category - Top 10, Your Favourites, Top 10 Slots, Latest Games, All Virtual Slot Games, Classics, Book of Ra Games, Greentube Games, ORYX Games, Gamomat Games, Peter & Sons Games.

Finally, as with other providers, the footer forms the bottom of the online casino. The footer lists, among other things, payment methods and game providers. You can also change the language from English to German. At the moment you will not find any other foreign languages at Novoline.

Mobile use and app

The developers of Novoline have decided against having their own app. As the online casino has not been on the market for very long, this is not surprising. Many new operators wait to develop an app until they have achieved a certain level of popularity. In my big Novoline review, I tested the mobility anyway and was very pleased with the result. The games run smoothly and the menu is almost perfectly adapted for use with my iPhone. Unfortunately, I cannot judge how it would look on an Android device. However, based on the absolute experts in the development team, I suspect that a similarly good mobile version has been developed as for IOS devices. Novoline also runs very well on the iPad.

Register at Novoline

Without proper registration, nothing works in modern online casinos! I would like to explain to you how to register at Novoline and what you should pay attention to. As soon as you visit the homepage, you will see the orange "Register" button in the top right corner. Click on it. This will take you to the first screen where you will be asked to enter the following details:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your password
  • Your date of birth

Once you have entered your details, you will be taken to the second screen where you will be asked to enter the following information:

  • Street
  • Street number
  • Postal code
  • Town/city
  • Country
  • Place of birth
  • Your gender
  • Telephone Number
  • Security question

Then click on "Save" and you will be taken to the penultimate screen. On this screen you will be asked for your desired limits, which you can set up to 1000 Euros. At this point you should remember that you can lower your limit at any time during the game, but not so easily raise it.
Finally, you will receive an email confirming your registration and you can start playing.

Please note the following points when registering

This brings us to a point that I cannot stress enough. In my opinion, successful or less successful gambling begins with registration. If mistakes are made intentionally (or unintentionally) during the registration process, they can result in winnings being cancelled and not paid out. It is better to be careful than lenient.

  • It is important that you only open one account with Novoline. Providers are always complaining about double accounts, which cause extra work and extra costs. Creating more than one account is a violation of the terms and conditions and will result in the provider deactivating both accounts.
  • Only provide accurate information. Fake profiles are also a violation of the terms and conditions. At some point there will be a verification process where your account will be checked for accuracy. If your details are found to be false, your profile will be closed.
  • Internet gambling is also over 18! If you register with a provider before your 18th birthday (and therefore choose a false date of birth), your account will also be blocked. Of course, you will not be able to withdraw any winnings.
Expert tip: I recommend that you verify your account as soon as you register. This is the only way to ensure fast withdrawals. You will need the following documents to verify your account:
  • A valid ID card or passport
  • Proof of address not older than 3 months. This can be a utility bill or phone bill.
  • Proof of payment method: for example, a bank statement. Sensitive information such as amounts can of course be redacted.

Software & Games

Novoline only went online a few weeks ago, so there is not yet a huge selection of machines available. On the plus side, the machines they do offer are all from reputable game manufacturers, so quality is guaranteed. At Novoline you will find the following suppliers:

  • Novomatic
  • Bally Wulff / Gamomat
  • ORYX Gaming
  • Peter & Sons

On request, it was confirmed to me in the live chat that the number of suppliers will continue to grow in the coming weeks.
The four providers so far bring the following games to the Novoline online games library, among others:

  • Book of Ra
  • La Dolce Vita
  • Book of Stars
  • Wild Ranger
  • Rising Treasures
  • Fancy Fruits
  • Katana
  • Irish Coins
  • Sizzling Hot Deluxe
  • Lucky Lady's Charm Deluxe
  • Smoking Hot 7's

Bonus & Promotions

The online gaming industry continues to excel in terms of bonuses and promotions. I would like to take a closer look at the two bonuses on offer.

Your Welcome Offer – 200 % Bonus up to 100 €

This is your chance to triple your deposit! From a deposit of 10 euros, you will receive a 200% bonus on your chosen deposit amount. In addition, you will receive 50 free spins on Book of Ra, which can be activated with a deposit of more than 25 euros. I will explain the bonus terms in detail in the section below.

More bonuses

Christmas is just around the corner! Accordingly, Novoline offers an Advent calendar. A little surprise awaits you every day until Christmas. I don't know exactly what the surprises are. However, customer support confirms that they can be deposit bonuses or free spins, for example. It is likely that the marketing team will come up with similar promotions on other occasions, such as carnival or Easter.

Important: By the way, the Advent calendar bonus can only be activated if you have subscribed to the Novoline newsletter.

The bonus terms and conditions

I will be happy to explain the most important bonus terms to you. They apply to every type of bonus:

  • You always play with your real money first. Once this is used up, you can start playing with the bonus money.
  • Once you have managed to wager your bonus, it will automatically be converted into real money.
  • Novoline always distinguishes between bonus money and real money.
  • Bonus rounds are also known as free spins.
  • You can cancel the bonus at any time.
  • In case of bonus abuse, the provider reserves the right to revoke the bonus.
  • The use of a VPN is prohibited.

I recommend that you send a message to support if you are unsure. I will explain how to contact support in the next point.

Support & Player Protection

Support has been one of the most important departments since the beginning of the online casino era. As an online gaming house with a German licence, Novoline is even required by the licenser to provide professional support. There are two ways to contact support. Firstly, you can contact the extremely friendly staff via live chat (the quickest option). If the live chat is in its closing hours, you can send an email to support@novoline.de. Depending on the volume of enquiries, the support team will reply within a few hours. In my tests, I waited 10 hours for an email on one occasion and 4 hours on another. For urgent matters, I recommend using the chat. The exact opening hours of the live chat are still varying at the moment, but will become more consistent. There is no telephone support, but this is no longer considered up-to-date. Alternatively, you can read the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions).

Changes due to licensing

Since Novoline is a German-licensed operator, I will also address the fundamental changes in this test. It's a change for all of us, because until a few months ago there were simply different rules and things that were taken for granted. The "new world" looks like this:

  • 5 second spins: The Licensor has prohibited a single spin of less than 5 seconds.
  • Monthly deposit limit of 1000 Euros: Each registered player may deposit a maximum of €1000 in real money per month. Regardless of income or previous winnings.
  • Popular games are back: This is certainly one of the biggest benefits of being regulated. Popular games such as Book of Ra and Ramses Book are available online again.
  • Legal clarity: The German licence legalises internet gambling according to its rules.
  • Popular payment processors are back: Providers such as PayPal and Visa are working with online gambling houses again.
  • Low RTP's (return to player): Due to taxes and other costs for the operators, the RTP has been reduced for the vast majority of operators.
  • OASIS: With the German licence, the national OASIS blacklist was established. Players are registered in this file and their gaming behaviour is documented in detail. If a player is banned from a German-licensed operator, this applies to all operators licensed in Germany.

Deposits & Withdrawals

Deposit and withdrawal methods are also a point where operators can differentiate and stand out. Furthermore, payment methods are one of the big winners of the new licence.

Novoline offers the following options:

  • Sofortüberweisung
  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • PayPal

The minimum payout per transaction is €20, and the minimum deposit is €5 when using Sofortüberweisung or Mastercard.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about these amounts. A minimum deposit of €5 is certainly nice for occasional players, but it doesn't help much when the minimum payout is €20. I would like to see this reduced to €10, as is the case with other German-licensed operators.

Conclusion

As always, I will end my personal review with a conclusion. In my opinion, the design and simplicity of the site are positive. You can see that experts have been brought in to create a beautiful online casino. The game producers and deposit methods are also positive. Also, this is not the end of the line, other established providers will follow.

I also liked the welcome bonus, wagering conditions under 30 are always positive. As always, the terms of the German licence make me a little nostalgic. I still cannot understand why a single spin has to take at least 5 seconds. I would also like to see more flexibility in the deposit limit. All in all, this is a safe and ambitious operator that is worth trying your luck with, especially if you like Novomatic or Bally Wulff games.

Finally, I wish you good luck and nice winnings in the Novoline online casino!
