XTiP now becomes MERKUR BETS

The sports betting provider XTiP has been called "MERKUR BETS" for a few days now. The Gauselmann Group, to which XTiP belongs, was also renamed the Merkur Group in mid-January of this year. The gaming group from Espelkamp in North Rhine-Westphalia is thus continuing to pursue its strategy of focussing on the successful Merkur brand.

Until a few days ago, only the yellow Mercury sun shone on the "XTiP" website. Visitors to the "xtip.de" platform are now being redirected to "merkurbets.de". The Merkur Group, which has only had this name since mid-January, has decided to rename XTiP to MERKUR BETS. But why has the well-known "XTiP" brand now quietly disappeared from the German online market?

Merkur Group wants to focus on the successful Merkur brand

The former Gauselmann Group, which was founded in 1957 and most recently employed around 15,000 people, has been known as the Merkur Group since January this year. At the beginning of the year, the family-owned group of companies based in Espelkamp, North Rhine-Westphalia, announced that it would focus on the successful Merkur brand in future. As part of this, all online presence and advertising material will be adapted to the Merkur brand.

As a result, the sports betting provider "XTiP" was renamed "MERKUR BETS" a few days ago. XTiP" and its successor "MERKUR BETS" are still operated by Cashpoint Malta Ltd., which holds a German licence from the Joint Gaming Authority of the German federal states. Of course, the yellow Merkur sun has not disappeared from the platform's logo despite the renaming.

Virtual slot machine games are also available on the "MERKUR BETS" platform under the name "Merkur Slots". Recently, many new slots from the renowned provider Play'n GO have even been added to the online casino.

Do players have to re-register with MERKUR BETS?

Fortunately, it is not necessary for former XTiP users to re-register with "MERKUR BETS". Instead, they can log in as usual by clicking on the "Login" button at the top right with their known account details. This includes either the e-mail address or card number with the correct password.

What else is changing at MERKUR BETS? Basically, not much. Although the provider talks about "even more excitement, even more action and even more thrills" in a recent newsletter, hardly anything has changed in terms of the core offering. The new website has been online since Thursday, 21 March 2024.
