22-year-old lost his life in a traffic accident
The 22-year-old died in a traffic accident which he seems to have caused on purpose. According to his team from SK Gaming he left his family a farewell letter. His long-time streaming friend “Big Spin” looked very upset on Twitch and he was deeply saddened by the death of his team colleague:
“It really breaks my heart that I will never see this person again in my life.”
Why did the successful E- sportsman choose this path?
In his stream “Big Spin” said that his deceased friend had suffered from gambling addiction. The deceased’s father had spoken to him in a phone call about this. “Flobby” had already been addicted to sports betting for some time. Over time, because of this addiction he had accumulated debts. This led to shame, and he could not trust any of his friends anymore. Finally “Flobby” was so overwhelmed with the whole situation and there was no way out for him.
Tip: In an article we had published in mid-July 2021 we had talked about how one can recognise and fight gambling addiction. Those who feel that they are suffering from a problematic or pathological gambling behaviour should watch out for the symptoms and if in doubt turn to professional help (e.g., the BZgA). The advice team of the BZgA is for example available during the day on the free Hotline 0800 1 37 27 00 and one can remain anonymous.
