After a break of around nine years, the legendary entertainer Stefan Raab has returned to the public eye. Back at Easter, the 57-year-old went on a follower hunt for a possible TV comeback, inspiring almost three million fans within just a few days. It now seems certain that the Cologne-born entertainer will be boxing against Regina Halmich this autumn.

Stefan Raab is returning to the big show stage and wants to compete against former boxing world champion Regina Halmich on 14 September 2024. It is still unclear which TV channel will broadcast the fight and whether the now 57-year-old entertainer will return to show business for a longer period of time. The last time Stefan Raab appeared in front of millions of viewers on his show "Schlag den Raab" was in December 2015, around nine years ago. Many German betting customers are already wondering whether they will have the opportunity to bet on Stefan Raab's victory against Regina Halmich with a bookmaker.

All the facts about the boxing match between Stefan Raab and Regina Halmich

Initially, many fans suspected that Stefan Raab's announced comeback could be an April Fool's joke. However, it is now clear that the entertainer will indeed be returning to German television. Specifically, Stefan Raab will compete in a boxing match against Regina Halmich on 14 September 2024 at 7:45 pm in the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf.

Tickets were sold out on many platforms after just a short time. Fans will have to pay 57.50 euros for standing room, between 81.50 and 107.50 euros for a seat and even more than 250 euros for a VIP ticket.

Those who are unable to watch the event live could have the opportunity to watch the spectacle on free TV. However, it is still unclear which TV channel could broadcast the boxing match. In addition to RTL, Raab's long-standing "home channel" Pro7 could of course also have an increased interest in broadcasting the match. However, it is also possible that the boxing match could be broadcast by a streaming service. As reported by the BILD newspaper, Raab could even have developed his own streaming service.

Is Stefan Raab's TV comeback a good idea?

Opinions differ widely as to whether it is a good idea for Stefan Raab to return to German TV. His unspectacular retirement from TV in 2015 was stylish and felt like it came at the right time. The comeback on the big stage that has now been announced could jeopardise his cult status. However, it is not yet clear whether Raab will return to the stage for a longer period of time or whether he will only return to the public eye for the boxing match against former boxing world champion Regina Halmich.

Stefan Raab vs. Regina Halmich: Are there any bets for the boxing match?

Stefan Raab has already faced the 47-year-old professional boxer twice in the past. In both fights, which took place in 2001 and 2007, Stefan Raab was clearly defeated. In the first fight, the undefeated WIBF world champion from 1995 to 2007 even broke the TV giant's nose. However, Halmich already ended her professional career in 2007. Nevertheless, the entertainer's chances of success in the upcoming third fight are likely to be limited.

There are currently no bets available for the upcoming boxing match between Raab and Halmich in the autumn. Fans residing in Germany will also not have the opportunity to place such bets legally, as the responsible Joint Gambling Authority of the Federal States (GGL) does not issue a licence for such entertainment bets.
