Pancreatic cancer - no cure

Siegfried Fischbacher spent his old age on his impressive estate “Little Bavaria“, in Las Vegas. He had already spent four decades here with his partner Roy Horn, who had already passed away last May at the age of seventy five. At the end Fischbacher was being visited daily by a priest. Besides he also had two hospice nursing staff caring for him. Siegfried’s sister, Dolore (78) spoke to the BILD-Newspaper: „He fell asleep softly and peacefully“. The death of the artist was said to be a salvation.
Siegfried was not afraid of death
The BILD-newspaper quoted a good friend of Fischbacher, who insisted that the former magician and entertainer was not afraid of death. Instead, according to his friend, Siegfried had had „81 wonderful years in life and he was reconciled with everyone“. In spite of this, Sigfried, who was born in Rosenheim, would have wished to have some more time on earth.
Over 25 Million Live-spectators

Career over after Tiger attack
In 2003 there was a serious attack during one of their many „Mirage-Shows“. Roy was attacked by a tiger and he was seriously injured. The doctors who were treating him immediately described it as a miracle that the magician had survived the attack at all. During the following years there were lots of rumours about the circumstances which led to this incident. Whilst some spectators had already noticed a nervous behaviour from the white tiger “Montecore“ on the fatal day, the animal trainer himself was also not in top form on the day. The day before he had celebrated his birthday.
On 28th. February 2009, Siegfried and Roy had their last stage performance. What was special: during the short performance the exceptionally talented duo did not speak a word to each other and they said goodbye to their fans from all over the world in silence. It was only in 2007 that the two magicians opened up about their homosexuality in an interview.
