Novoline becomes main sponsor of 1 FC Kaiserslautern
A few days ago, 1. FC Kaiserslautern introduced its new main sponsor, the gambling provider Novoline. The licensed online casino, which is operated by BluBet Operations Limited, is part of the renowned gaming company Löwen Entertainment, based in nearby Bingen am Rhein. But how much money will the second division club receive from its new main sponsor and how long will the contract run for?
The majority of football clubs in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga can no longer manage without sponsors from the gambling sector. Last December, we at GambleJoe therefore asked ourselves whether or not a general ban on gambling advertising would be appropriate. It has now been announced that Novoline will be the new main sponsor of the second division club Kaiserslautern. As a result, the Novoline logo will appear on the Red Devils' jerseys in the future.
Löwen Entertainment: Sponsorship agreement until at least 2027
Novoline and 1. FC Kaiserslautern are not new partners. Löwen Entertainment was already the exclusive partner of 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the last Bundesliga season. The partnership also has a good reason - the local proximity. The headquarters of Löwen Entertainment GmbH are located in Bingen am Rhein in Rhineland-Palatinate, just 80 kilometres away from FC Kaiserslautern. According to FCK's official press release dated 31 May, the sponsorship agreement runs until at least 2027.
However, the Novoline online casino advertised on the jersey is operated by the Malta-based subsidiary BluBet Operations Limited. However, the company has a German licence for virtual slot machines and is therefore 100% legal in Germany.

FCK is satisfied with new main sponsor
The managing director of 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Thomas Hengen, is satisfied with his new main sponsor and emphasises the advantages for both sides:
"We are delighted that we have been able to extend our previous successful partnership with Löwen Entertainment once again and that a company from the region will continue to support us as our main sponsor (...)".
Novoline becomes omnipresent at FCK
Just in time for the company's 75th anniversary, Löwen Entertainment and its Novoline brand will be even more visible at the second division club from Rhineland-Palatinate. Firstly, the logo of the online gaming centre will be found on the Red Devils' shirts in future. On the other hand, Novoline will also have a broad presence in the Fritz Walter Stadium (approx. 49,000 seats). Unfortunately, there is no official information on how much money Löwen Entertainment GmbH has spent on the sponsorship agreement. The manufacturer of gaming machines most recently employed around 4,200 people and generated an annual turnover of almost 470 million euros.
For comparison: In the 2021/2022 season, the 18 clubs in the Bundesliga 2 were able to raise an average of €1.68 million through shirt sponsorship alone.
We reported back in September last year that the Gauselmann Group had become a premium partner of 1. FC Köln.
On Tuesday 11 June, it was announced that 1. FC Kaiserslautern would be selling jerseys in children's sizes without the imprint of sponsor Novoline in the coming years. This is FCK's response to criticism of the new gambling company as the main sponsor and ensures that children and young people are protected in the best possible way. FCK Managing Director Thomas Hengen explained this in an interview with SWR.
