NEO.bet new sponsor of the PDC European Darts Tour
The betting provider Neo.bet is quite active when it comes to sponsorship and promotion. Most of the promotions clearly relate to the game of football. However, the bookmaker is now expanding its portfolio to include a sport that has experienced a strong boom in recent years. As the main sponsor of the PDC European Darts Tour, the company promises to create added value for spectators and fans. What does that mean?
NEO.bet is clearly one of the best-known betting providers in Germany. This is not least due to the broad range of advertising and sponsorship activities that are carried out there. The bookie is present with adverts on television and acts as a partner or supporter of Werder Bremen, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and SV Darmstadt. In 2022, the company landed a real coup when it was able to recruit Laura Wontorra, probably the most popular presenter and sports journalist in Germany, for the role of NEO.bet brand ambassador.
The bookmaker recently announced an expansion of its sponsorship in a press release. In future, it will no longer just be football. With darts, the company wants to get involved in a booming and increasingly popular sport. Darts offers great potential - including "outstanding atmosphere, lively emotions & enthusiastic fans". The betting provider will be the main sponsor of the PDC European Darts Tour in 2024 and wants to offer something for the fans as well.
The PDC European Darts Tour and NEO.bet
The PDC European Darts Tour has been held annually since 2012. It is a tournament that comprises a total of 13 events on the European mainland. Seven of the events take place in Germany and Austria. NEO.bet is the main sponsor here. These are the following dates in detail (source Darts1.de):
- German Darts Grand Prix (GDGP): 30 March to 01 April - Zenith, Munich
- International Darts Open (IDO): 12 to 14 April - WT Energiesysteme Arena, Riesa
- European Darts Grand Prix (EDGP): 19 to 21 April - Glaspalast, Sindelfingen
- Austrian Darts Open (ADO): 26 to 28 April - Steiermarkhalle, Premstätten (Austria)
- Baltic Sea Darts Open (BSDO): 10 to 12 May - Wunderino Arena, Kiel
- European Darts Open (EDO): 21 to 23 June - Ostermann Arena, Leverkusen
- German Darts Championship (GDC): 30 August to 1 September - Halle 39, Hildesheim
There will be a special stage at these events, but there will also always be activities for spectators and betting fans. The participating darts professionals will also be rewarded. The prize money amounts to 175,000 euros per tournament. Each of the competitions takes place over three days and involves a field of 48 players.
The top 16 players in the world are automatically eligible to take part. In addition, the best 16 players on the Pro Tour Order of Merit are allowed to take part. In addition, there are ten winners of a qualifying tournament for tour card holders, four winners of a Host Nation Qualifiers tournament, one winner of a PDC Nordic & Baltic Qualifiers event and one winner of an East Europe Qualifiers competition.
If you want to follow the PDC European Darts Tour tournaments live, you can not only watch them in the halls. DAZN broadcasts all events live. They can be followed via the typical devices, i.e. smart TV, smartphone, PC, laptop and tablet.
NEO.bet promises "plenty of action, fun and exceptional prizes"
As the main sponsor of the PDC European Darts Tour, NEO.bet naturally benefits from a certain amount of publicity. Compared to other international tournaments, the competitions tend to be smaller. Nevertheless, they are attended and followed by many fans in German-speaking countries - not least because some of the world's top players take part.
In addition to an "outstanding atmosphere, lively emotions and enthusiastic fans", NEO.bet promises "added value for the spectators" - the aim is not just to be present on stage with the company logo. This probably refers to the bookmaker's intensive reporting and analyses of the individual events. There are regular odds boosts and betting tips for fans in the bookie's news section. The odds of the participating professionals are analysed in detail.
Galina Werner, Managing Director of NEO.bet, promises "action, fun and exceptional prizes" in this context:
"Darts is booming, darts is exciting and is becoming more and more popular. That's why it was a logical next step for us to no longer limit our sponsorship activities to football. NEO.bet generally stands for speed and innovation. We are really looking forward to the European Tour and, together with the PDC Europe, guarantee to provide fans with plenty of action, fun and exceptional prizes. Game on!"
Werner von Moltke, Managing Director of PDC Europe, also says that the collaboration with NEO.bet will offer viewers more:
"We are very happy about the partnership with NEO.bet. It is important to us not only to gain a sponsor for the European Tour through a strategic partnership, but also to create added value for the spectators. NEO.bet will therefore not only be present on stage in the halls."
