Mr Green is back on the German gambling market
The 888 Germany Ltd. Has received another German games of chance licence for online slots. This time the licence was issued for the internet site “mrgreen.de”. This means that the well-known gambling provider is finally back on the German online gambling market. How attractive is Mr Green as a German online casino and can one already register here?
Around a month ago on GambleJoe we had talked about which providers held a German games of chance licence in March 2023. In this list which we provided and which meanwhile has become outdated, Germany Ltd. is found at the top. This company belongs to the renowned 888 group and in Germany alone it operates three licenced platforms. Besides 888.de and 888slots.de, there is now also Mr Green.
Mr Green receives German licence for online slots
In the past years Mr Green had been one of the most popular online casinos in German-speaking countries. Meanwhile the operator had to pull out from the German gambling market. In January 2021 we had reported that the sentence of Mr Green is definite and that the provider had to stop its online services in Germany. However, the GGL, (Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder), the gambling authority responsible for all regions in Germany, has now given the green light and the platform “mrgreen.de” has also been issued with a Geman licence for virtual slot machines.
Is Mr Green once again an attractive gambling provider?
According to the information which the company itself gave, in Germany Mr Green is currently offering “more than 700 top games and also a variety of exclusive games which are only available on Mr Green”. This makes Mr Green stand out from the other platforms. Table games and jackpot games are however not available, and this is the case in all other licensed online casinos.
German gambling enthusiasts can already register quite easily on the specifically developed technology platform. However, Mr Green, as a licensed gambling provider must also comply with the player protection regulations which are somewhat disagreeable.
This means that the users can stake a maximum of one Euro per game round on Mr Green and that there must be a pause of five seconds between every game. Further to this there is a monthly deposit limit of 1000 Euro across all providers and as like in the other German online casinos players must pay a tax amounting to 5.3 % of all stakes.
Conclusion
Mr Green is a well-known brand in German-speaking countries. Now Mr Green has finally acquired the long-desired GGL licence for online-slots and may thus provide legal virtual slot games. However, we must wait and see whether Mr Green can once again enjoy the success it had in the past or whether it will be affected by the strict player protection measures. Besides Mr Green, 888 currently also operates the two internet sites “888.de” and “888slots.de” on the German online gambling market.
