"Merkur Club Casino" at German Electro Festival
The Gauselmann Group was present at the three-day Parookaville Festival with a mobile casino. Visitors were able to play slot machines, blackjack and roulette. But how does a billion-dollar gambling company come up with the idea of running a casino at one of Europe's biggest electronic dance music festivals?
Almost a quarter of a million party-goers attended this year's Parookaville Festival, which took place at Weeze Airport near Düsseldorf from 21 to 23 July. In addition to world-famous artists such as Felix Jaehn, The Chainsmokers and Steve Aoki, festival-goers could also look forward to the "Merkur Club Casino". But does a mobile casino fit in at Germany's biggest electronic festival? The response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Parookaville Festival is known for its unique show concept
One of the things that makes the three-day Parookaville Festival so special is the show concept, where the event is staged as a city in its own right. Parookaville has its own town hall, prison, swimming pool, post office and casino. The "Merkur Club Casino" was run by the Gauselmann Group from Espelkamp.
Here, in an area of about 120 square metres, visitors could learn about and try out numerous games for free. And of course, as befits an electronic festival, there were plenty of prominent DJs to create the right atmosphere. In addition to the slot machines, the "Merkur Club Casino" also featured a wheel of fortune and a money box, which were well received by the majority of the festival guests. The Gauselmann Group was also present with the "Merkur Club Casino" at the BigCity Beats World Club Dome in Frankfurt in the recent past.
Nils Rullkötter, Senior Manager of the Gauselmann Group, was visibly proud of the mobile casino:
"We were able to reach even more people and make them aware of what we have to offer. Thanks to our great Merkur Festival Crew, consisting of around 30 employees from various departments of the company, and our extensive entertainment offer, the guests not only got a glimpse into our gaming world, but above all experienced an unforgettable time at the Merkur Club Casino."
All about fun - no real money in the mobile "festival casino“
Festival goers could only play with play money in the "Merkur Club Casino". As a result, there were no real money payouts on the slot machines. Only the wheel of fortune and the money box offered prizes such as free day tickets for the next festival without any real money. The aim of the Gauselmann group was obviously only to present their games to a young audience.
Conclusion
The Gauselmann Group presented the "Merkur Club Casino" at Germany's largest electronic festival. The more than 225,000 visitors to the three-day festival not only had the opportunity to visit the mobile casino and play for free and without real money. The "festival city" also featured a church, swimming pool, post office, town hall, prison and bank.
