Max Kruse wins more than 130,000 Euro in poker tournament
The German professional football player Max Kruse has also been a poker player since 2014. A few days ago, the 34-year-old won his first tournament of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE), which also provided him with a high renumeration. How did the Hamburg- born player get this coupe and what does this mean for his future?
Things have long not been going well career wise for the professional football player Max Kruse who is signed with VfL Wolfsburg. Just recently, in September of this year, his trainer Niko Kovac repeatedly left him out of the team because of “lack of engagement” and “lack of focus on VfL”. However, things are going really well for Kruse in his second passion, that is, in poker. In the past week he won the tournament of the World Series of Poker Europe, in short, WSOPE, for the first time.
Ex national player has long been a poker player
For the past eight years Max Kruse has also been a poker player. A few days ago, Kruse won the WSOPE tournament when he competed with more than 400 competitors in the city of Rozvadov in the Czech Republic. He managed to win against his last opponent, the French Dorian Melchers. A Karo 2 in River helped him since he already had two pairs in hand and could then win the round with a drilling.
Since Max Kruse has won the poker event in the Czech Republic, he has also earned himself a much-desired place in the main event of WSOPE, which is worth more than 10,000 Euro. He has also earned a qualifying entry in the Tournament of Champions of the WSOP in Las Vegas in the coming year.
Max Kruse wins more than 130,000 Euro + bracelet
Kruse won more 134,152 Euro - and this with a Buy-in of 1,650 Euro. This is the highest winning Kruse ever made in poker. Besides the money prize, he also won the desired bracelet. Around eight years ago, Kruse had won around 36,000 Euro. After winning he said: “I always play for fun, but it is nice to know that one can really do it.”
We have already written in an article we had published in January of this year that poker can be bodily and physically tiring. At that time, we had written that the professional poker player Xuan Liu cannot recommend her success.
Conclusion
For the first time in his poker career the 34-year-old has won a highly renumerating WSOPE tournament. He has won more than 130,000 Euro, but more than that he can also try his luck in the main event of the WSOP and in the Tournament of Champions of WSOP in the gambling metropole Las Vegas in 2023.
