Mallorca: Perpetrator attacks the same casino three times

An especially bold robber was arrested a few days ago by the police in Mallorca. Within a week the robber is said to have attacked the same casino in Mallorca three times. Now the unlucky casino robber is in a Spanish prison. But how did the police manage to catch him and which punishment awaits the bold robber?

As local media reported, the 45-year-old Spanish committed his first attack on New Year’s Eve of 2021. A few days later, on the 6th. January 2022, he seems to have attacked the same casino twice in a day. The bold robber was arrested shortly after by the police in Palma de Mallorca. Just in the beginning of October 2021 we had reported about the planned credit card ban for gambling in Mallorca.

Attack with large knife - three times within a few days

The suspect first visited the casino in Palma de Mallorca on New Year’s Eve. Here the 45-year-old held a large knife in front of a 45-year old employee and demanded that she hand over her personal belongings. Later on, the man ordered the employee to open up the cash of the casino and hand him the contents. Following this, the man then fled and ran away.

On the day of the Epiphany, the man returned to the same casino, however this time, at the early hours of the morning. Although as a consequence of the first attack, the entrance door of the casino was locked, the perpetrator managed to force his way in violently. During this second attack, a casino employee escaped to another room. Thus the perpetrator could take the money from the cash.

A few hours later the casino robber returned to the same place. The same scene as that of the early hours of the morning was repeated- the employee escaped to the side room and the robber emptied the cash. After the third attack however, he was followed by several persons. The robber threatened them with a knife and subsequently they released him and he managed to escape again.

Following further investigations, the police in Palma de Mallorca then managed to arrest the man very fast. Several evidence were found in his apartment, including flashlights, break-in tools and several knives. 

Now the unlucky casino robber is in a prison in Mallorca. Till now it is not clear how much money the man stole during his attacks and whether the money could be seized by the police. In November 2020 we had reported about a similar curious case. Here there was an unsuccessful attempt on a casino in Bayern and the perpetrator pocketed just 463 Euro.

Conclusion

After a 45-year old attacked the same casino in Palma de Mallorca three times within a few days, he was arrested by the police. Now the perpetrator faces several years’ imprisonment. It is not clear why the robber chose to attack the same casino three times and why he attacked twice on the same day. One can only hope that the man will learn from his experience in prison.
