Macau: huge fight in the casino
A few days ago, several casino visitors in the Chinese Metropole of Macau were involved in a large brawl. In a video which is doing the rounds on social media a group of players can be seen attacking each other and using the inventory of the casino. What was the cause of the fight and what were the consequences for those involved?
A few days ago, in an article on GambleJoe we spoke about casinos and games of chance in Asia. Several gambling enthusiasts were involved in a massive brawl in a casino in Macau. Those involved in the brawl had previously been involved in a dispute around the gambling table and had clashed and insulted each other verbally. A short while later casino stools could be seen flying in the air.
Chaos lasted for several minutes in the casino
As can be seen on a video which has been released on YouTube, several players attacked each other in the casino. There was no trace of the security personnel. As the local media reported it took several minutes for the security personnel of the casino to control the situation together with the police who had been called in.
The police arrested eight players and the latter are being accused of having been involved in the massive brawl. All those involved have now been banned from the casino. Besides this, it could be possible that the “brawlers” receive an entry ban to Macau. Till now it is still not clear what was the cause of the brutal massive brawl.
Luckily only one person was injured in the fight. In September 2021 we had reported that a female employee from a casino in Macau had stolen several hundred Euros from VIP customers.
Macau: income from gambling explodes
A few days ago, the gambling authority of Macau released the income figures for the past month. According to the authority, the casino providers generated a turnover of around 1.7 billion Euro just during the month of April. When compared to the previous year this is an increase of 450 per cent.
The reason for the positive development is the fact that many Corona virus prevention measures were lifted. For this reason, more tourists can now visit the country once again.
Macau is a special administrative zone of the People’s Republic of China. Macau is situated only around 50km west of Hongkong. Tourism and gambling are the main sources of income of the special administrative zone. There are less than one million people living in Macau.
Conclusion
At least eight men and women were involved in a brawl in a casino in Macau. Luckily only one person was injured. However, the video which was released on YouTube shows how fast the mood can shift and that in practice gambling can be very emotional.
