Floating Luxury Casino for Argentina
Originally there were casino ships nearly exclusively in the USA. Meanwhile there are other floatable casinos also in many other places in the world. Very soon, the Argentinian Harbour City Puerto Iguazú will get such a luxury casino on water. An outdated ship will be restored for this purpose and will be transformed in an El Dorado for casino-fans.
In Argentina there will soon be a floating luxury casino. An old six-storey ship will be transformed for this purpose for around 60 million US-Dollar. The visitors can then play classical gamble games like Blackjack, Roulette or Poker. The multi million project will be carried out by the renowned Argentinian Firm Compañía Comercial de Turismo.
Casino ship should remain stationary in port
Different from other casino ships, the floatable luxury casino of the Argentinians should be moored to a bridge at the harbour. No Round trips or sightseeing tours will be offered so that the focus will be kept on the gambling service.
The ship, which is called Nicolás Mihanovich, was built in 1962 and is therefore nearly 60 years old. For this reason, it is no surprise that the eight-storey ship will have to be converted and renovated before it can be used as an El Dorado for gambling. In all, around 60 million US-Dollar will be allocated for it. The Argentinian ship has previously already housed a casino and a hotel in it.
More than 60 ship casinos in the USA
Floating Luxury casinos have been popular for several decades in the USA. There are currently 63 casino ships, which are operating in six US-Federal States. The latter are Indiana, Mississippi, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana and Missouri. Solely in Illinois the casino ships generated tax revenue worth around 400 million US-Dollar. This business branch is not only lucrative for the casino-operators, but also the government earns heftily from it.
Conclusion
The Argentinian government will probably expect to earn millions in tax revenue from its luxurious ship. Such a floatable luxury ship is up till now unique in South America and could lead to the fact that many tourists will flock to the harbour city Puerto Iguazú. It is not yet confirmed, when one can expect to see the casino ship inaugurated. It is however certain that for the renovation costs of 60 million US-Dollar, there will not only be a pompous casino, but also a wellness area and a sports area.
