Even years later lotto-millionaire still lives in social housing
As it was announced years ago, a lotto millionaire is still living in her old social housing flat, years after her winning. In 2003, the British had won the sum of 1,7 million GBP in the lotto. But why is the lucky lotto player still living so inexpensively?
Only in September of this year we had reported of the Record win of an Australian in lotto - she won around 50 million Euro. A now 51-year-old lotto player from Great Britain had in 2003 won “only” 1,7 million GBP - however she still seems to be living just as frugally as before. Even after nearly 20 years of winning the jackpot, she is still living in her old social housing flat.
Lotto Millionaire continues to work as school cook
As the British news portal Metro reported recently, the lotto millionaire of 2003 has remained remarkably down-to-earth. Trish Emson even kept her job as a cook in a school, even though she had won around 1,7 million GBP in the lotto. The 51-year old winner has now reported, that it she would find it boring without her job. But, even otherwise, the life of the woman has hardly changed after winning the lotto: she drives a cheap Ford Ka und still shops at Primark, just as she did before winning. Even her husband, who is also 51 years old, has still kept his job as a decorator after winning the lotto.
However she has at least gone on some trips with her partner - among others, to Ibiza and Benidorm. Besides the couple has also bought two caravans. However the small family has still not moved out of their cheap social housing even years after winning the lotto. In the interview, the British narrated, that in spite of her winning, she did not feel a better person and she does not like to dress up:
“When one sees me, one would not say I am a millionaire, but if I had to dress up, I would feel unreal, I prefer my jeans.”
British has a child - and completes the familial happiness.
After a few weeks of the phenomenal lotto winning in 2003, the British got pregnant. Previously, she and her partner had tried to have children for a long time, but were unsuccessful. However after winning the lotto, they succeeded immediately. In the interview with the British news portal Metro, the 51-year-old admitted, that her son Benjamin, lives down-to earth, just as his parents. They also did not want to send their son to a private school, but registered him in a state school.
Conclusion
One can actually only be jealous for a lotto winner, who even after nearly 20 years is still happy. She and her partner seem to have done everything right. They have kept their jobs, did not increase their spending exorbitantly and therefore after many years still have financial reserves from their 1,7 million winnings. This case is therefore a good example that a lotto winning can change life for the better, without having to buy unnecessary luxury goods.
