Betsson registers a record increase in sales of 18 % in 2022

Around two weeks ago the gambling group Betsson AB which is registered on the Stock Exchange published its yearly report for the past year. The management proudly announced an impressive 10 % increase in sales turnover for the past year. In which business areas did the Scandinavian gambling group do best and what is the situation on the German market?

The gambling group which is based in Sweden has generated a turnover of more than 777 million Euro in 2022. When compared to 2021 this is a percentual increase in turnover of around 18 %. This success ties well with Betsson’s past successes. In fact in November 2021 we had reported that, it is expected that higher turnovers are expected to be generated in the third quarter of 2021.

Betsson records “best year ever”

On Valentine’s Day the gambling group Betsson AB, which is registered on the Stock Exchange published its first yearly report for 2022. There is every reason to be happy. Within a year the company managed to increase its total turnover with nearly a fifth. To be more precise in 2022, Betsson registered an increase in turnover of 18 %. The group which has than 1.800 employees, generated an impressive turnover of 777.2 million, when converted.

The official press statement can be accessed here. According to the yearly report Bestsson has just gone through “the best year of all times”. And this exactly during a time where all other companies are struggling with several crisis situations.

Betsson AB is a gambling group registered on the Stock Exchange and it is based in Sweden. Betsafe, Nordicbet, as well as Kroon Casino are among the brands which belong to the group besides Betsson. Currently Betsson has around 1800 employees.

Why was there such a high turnover?

One must here mention the Football World Cup which took place last winter in Qatar. In February of this year the group which is registered on the Stock Exchange has received an official gambling licence for the province of Cordoba in Argentina. Besides this, in March of last year Betsson started its mobile services in sports betting in the US Federal State of Colorado and meanwhile it has really expanded. In another article in April 2022 we had forecasted that the online gambling market will significantly increase by 2030. Of course, Betsson would benefit from this development.

Betsson is now not operating in Germany anymore. On the website it is stated that “according to the gambling regulations this website is not available in your country”. Despite the fact that the company has retreated from the German market, it has still managed to increase its turnover significantly. This is impressive and shows that the German market is not really relevant for such a globally operating gambling group.

Conclusion

During the past year things were running very well for the gambling concern based in Sweden. To be more precise, the Betsson AB had the best year ever in its history. The prognosis for 2023 is very optimistic, whereby Betsson has pointed out that both the geopolitical situation as well as the macroeconomic situation will remain uncertain.
