I have been annoyed about this problem for years now.
I started playing OC when I was 19, at StarGames and still living with my parents. I had a normal Logitech system for 30€ and always had to turn it down almost all the way to not produce way too much noise. Playing completely without sound I do not like, but if I set a normal volume as when listening to music or watching movies are slots I find already unnaturally loud.
Today I have very good and expensive monitor boxes. These are actually always set the same volume, when I Zocke I set the volume on my computer to about 2-4%! And that is totally exaggerated.
Does anyone have a clue why slots have to be so unnaturally loud or am I maybe even the only one who noticed this?
I also get annoyed with some slots when they are so overly loud, I especially notice this with the Netent slots.
Every time I listen to music and start the Dead or Alive slot, for example, I almost always get tinnitus.
But thank God you can at least adjust the volume on Netent, just a pity that the settings are never saved.
If you want, you can simply lower the volume level for the browser in Windows, which is helpful when you listen to music via Spotify, for example.

I have the sound of the games always turned off,,, because I find them just annoying and have always quietly run my music while playing

I can totally understand that with some games. I am myself in the sound design and music production or composition and I find some manufacturers have absolutely cheap sound effects and music. But especially Netent is so well produced, the music and sounds really fit the slots perfectly and are also creative and not just the usual choruses in scatters. For example the whistling melody over the western guitar in Wild Wild West, if I would play there without sound I would miss something. The only question remains why the volume is set so abnormally exaggeratedly loud.

I use the sound off function of the browser.
In most cases it is enough to set this once on the homepage, automatically the sound is not transmitted on all subsequent pages.
I can't say that this has had any influence on my wins so far.
