And if a homeless person spends the money on drugs or booze then he should. The feeling when you have a real sh .... day, work only stress, nothing works out - and you long for a beer or glass of wine and end of work.? This is the feeling a homeless person has 24/7. People have no privacy, no place to retreat, a homeless person never really sleeps, any

I don't think you can compare the "after work beer" situation to the alcohol addiction of many homeless people.

Partly I agree with you but the point about the hard day and drugs I don't think is ok

If I notice someone wants to buy only booze or drugs from the money I am indirectly to blame if he takes harm or worse apart from how shitty life on the road is and how hard it makes it no better if he is completely befuddled still robbed

In addition, the offers where actually food is issued by far not enough and certainly are not as cool as an awesome roll from the bakery topped with everything possible

I can only recommend this documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FY7XboW7Qgo

It is incredibly difficult to put yourself in these people's shoes and I don't blame anyone for that. But you can't imagine such addictive pressure.

Dear Community,

we are pleased to inform you that the community's willingness to donate increased further last year (2023).
190 members took part in the fundraising campaign in the first half of 2023 (help for the Berlin animal shelter) and donated 603 euros.
In the fundraising campaign in the 2nd half of 2023 (help for the Bärenherz Leipzig children's hospice), 137 members took part and donated 363 euros.
In total, 966 euros were donated in 2023 !

We have just transferred the donations to the individual projects.
Here you can find the current donation receipt:
https://s20.directupload.net/images/240103/qjz3vx8w.png

As it seems to us that the majority of people would like to donate to "animals in need", we have once again chosen an animal shelter as the recipient of donations for the first half of 2024. However, as we didn't want a big repetition in the donation projects, all donations from the new fundraising campaign will go to the animal shelter in Hanover.

We are excited to see how much money will be raised this time.

Best wishes from the GambleJoe team

Was my suggestion about the rainforest currently burning down due to rising temperatures not so convincing?

I had somehow understood that we could vote for which action we would rather donate to!

It's also about thousands of animals that are losing their homes and also about a huge diversity of species that can only exist there and is therefore threatened with extinction with the disappearance of the Amazon.

The question is where does the money go? I've already donated a few coins, but I wouldn't do it in reality. In other words, donating somewhere on a TV show or a telethon is out of the question, as there are certainly people holding out their hand for whom it is not intended. If they cut everything down there, they'll just do it, it's for the jobs. I also don't know if you can just send a fire department in to put it out in such a difficult-to-access area. A lot of people don't care about nature, everyone dies at some point anyway and whether the world is such a beautiful place, well. There is still a government where other countries could exert pressure to take care of it. The coolest thing is when ordinary citizens are called upon to donate but people who have more than others don't participate. Why should only ordinary people donate?

Even if that sounds stupid now with people I don't get as touched as when it comes to animals

Animals can't help it they usually suffer from stupid decisions by humans and on top of that, as Freakz0id already says, a human can actively seek help an animal can't do that they are "only labeled as animals"

that's what they thought at the last soccer world cup

It's simply not true that a rise in temperature has anything to do with an increase in forest fires. Sorry to have to say it like this, but you've simply fallen for propaganda. I've done a lot of research on the subject and you're definitely not right. That doesn't mean that forest fires aren't a danger and of course something can be done about them. Furthermore, there has been no rise in temperature in the known areas. Just please don't pull out a Spiegel article or something similar.

If I ever donate, it will definitely be for animals or people in need, but certainly not for something like this.

No, I've watched a few reports from terra x!

It is also true that the inhabitants have cleared a lot of forest land to create arable land for self-sufficiency, but these clearings were burnt down in a controlled manner!

Why would that be propaganda...what are they talking such garbage about?
I doubt that you have really informed yourself in detail about it!
All you have to do is google "forest fires in the Amazon" and then you can pick a site that you think is serious and truthful!
But you will find the same facts everywhere...summarized in more detail on some and in more detail on others!
The fact that climate change is just scaremongering has long been refuted, but the fact that the majority of people prefer to go through life with blinkers on and don't want to see or hear anything instead of informing themselves is nothing new!

In case one or the other should be interested...
