GJ is almost a bit too big to get a notification for threads, don't you think? Your mailbox would be full all the time

Contributions - no matter how meaningful they are - are rewarded with 15 points. A comment is rewarded with 10 points. Up to 5 comments can be rewarded per day. That means you get 50 points in 2 minutes. So you have to do this for 13 days (+ the points for logging in) and you are already qualified for the lottery. This is certainly unfair to users who are more active here and/or help other users with problems and write half novels.

Here you could reduce the points awarded from 50 to 5 points/day (1 comment = 1 point). Even with 31 days you wouldn't get the number of points.

In addition, you could build in benefits as you rise in rank, e.g. you get more points for activity. At the moment, the rankings themselves have no added value, except that you get a title in your username.
