Hello to all and especially to all those who know something about Malta,
will fly with my wife the weekend after next for a day and a night to Malta. We will arrive Saturday afternoon and return on Sunday morning.
So there is not much time to take in some sights and the beach. Would be happy if I could get some suggestions from Malta experienced forum members. If the GJ team could respond, that would of course be most welcome as the best tips can only come from those who live and work in Malta.
I was just 3 weeks ago. However, 3 nights and for the game Malta - Sweden
Honestly? What do you want for 12h stay for tips? Would walk once the coastal road from Sliema to St.Julians, what to eat and then you have to check out again and sleep.
Where do you sleep? Sliema, Msida, St. Julians?!
My favorite is St.Julians. similar to El Arenal. Only a little more level
Oh yes, and Valletta you should go through again. That's it with your trip
Bus tickets cost a flat 2 euros for all directions and are valid for 2 hours
As Slothot wrote above, it is of course a bit difficult to give you good tips for such a short stay on the island.
For us, it is currently a bit rainy on Malta and also (at least to my sensation) become a bit colder, which is why it is probably a bit difficult to sunbathe on the beach.
I would recommend you to go to Valetta and walk around a bit, there are many sights and also some good restaurants.
Alternatively, you can also check on Facebook, there are all events and events suggested, maybe there is something for you

Thanks a lot to both of you! This is exactly the kind of info that is wanted. More of it please.
As for the overnight...well...if it gives the weather, my wife and I thought we lay down on the beach and take a two hour nap there if we need it. If it really rains and our 10kg luggage gets on our nerves we will take a small room.
Valetta was the first place we thought of. Is on foot from the airport about 1 1/2 hours away. On the way to the sea maybe say hello at Videoslots Ltd. As far as I know, players are always welcome there and may look at derren premises.
I have also looked at your building on Maps Julian...would also not be far away...does not look very inviting at first glance . But maybe I am wrong.
I will probably fly to Malta next summer as well, but a bit longer
Have also already informed me superficially. I am a bit of a culture and history freak. Accordingly, Gozo appeals to me very much. The capital Victoria is an architecturally very interesting city. Characterized both by the European Middle Ages and by an oriental style. In general, there are many beautiful old buildings in Malta, especially defense buildings and churches/cathedrals. On Gozo alone there are 2 opera houses
If you like nature more than culture, the island is also worth a visit. Likewise if you like diving, though I doubt it's the right season for that
Of course, you can also just go to the casino I will certainly do

Of course I researched all this once on the Internet, with the "knowledge" I was certainly not born But if you plan early his travel destinations, not too much budget for it and accordingly only destinations within Europe come into question, you compare the potential destinations just more accurately. I need arguments if I want to make Malta palatable to my girlfriend. The says because of the pictures, however, that looks like Italy and there we were already this summer and wants rather direction Norway / Sweden. So if someone still has an unbeatable argument for Malta, always her with it
There is virtually none. I spent a couple of semesters there and it is not much more than a barren stone desert and extremely densely populated. At least in the east
Valletta doesn't have much to do with Italy. The architectural style has many influences. Especially Arabic
Malta lends itself to partying, "beach" (rock is more like it), English Skills improving and casino. That's why I like it and come back every year for a long weekend
Otherwise there are more beautiful destinations. Especially the Canary Islands, if you want to stay within Europe...
