Online Casinos in general: Witness interview online casinos

Hello all,

last week I received a letter from the Munich Criminal Investigation Department asking me to give evidence as a witness against a person unknown to me

The questions relate to online gambling. What is curious about this is that the questions are not only aimed at the accused, but also at my own gambling behavior (How much did I gamble in total? In which period of time did I gamble online?) or the questions are not logical for me (Were you aware that online gambling is not allowed in Bavaria?), since I have not been to Bavaria in the last 10 years or done anything online there.

Has anyone received a similar letter? The questions imply a certain accusation. So I should also comment on the reservation to have participated in illegal gambling.

Enclosed is not legal advice, but only my lay opinion:

Simply ignore.

I would also carefully ignore this.

I second that.... Carefully ignore it. As long as nothing comes from the public prosecutor's office, you are not obligated to do anything

So you guys think I should just not answer it at all?

Somehow I don't really understand the context. You're not from Bavaria and now you're supposed to give a testimony to someone you don't know at all? Why?

Unfortunately, it does not say why. The questions start with who owns the account and what was their IBAN at the time. "THE" account is not mentioned before, there is no explanation.... Except for the question about 2 companies and whether I know the defendant, the questions are aimed at my gambling behavior

I also think ignoring is the best solution. If you answer that, the most you can do is incriminate yourself, and why should you do that?

In any case ignore or if possible tick that you do not make a statement and send it back
