Online Casinos in general: Expiration date on driver's license?

Hello,

in the last year I have noticed the following that was never the case before. More and more OC's are requiring an "Expiry Date" on ID cards. Otherwise they are not accepted. This is interesting and I am not quite sure why

I signed up for a new OC to gamble a little for 10/day. (Gambola.com) But before that I wanted to verify the account, in case it should happen and it comes to a payout. I also have an ecoPayz account and there I would pay out. This is also verified with my driver's license, which has no expiration date

Since my passport expired in spring and I plan to renew it in spring, I don't have a document with an expiry date at the moment. In the EU, however, the driver's licenses are provided with an expiration date only since 2013.

Why do some, but obviously not all, OC's need an expiration date on an ID card? A casino came to me on inquiry with the answer that the licensor would require that. Well, can not be true. Because most MGA casinos accept a normal driver's license. So, what's the deal with that?

Until 2030, all driver's licenses in Germany must be exchanged, then everything is credit card format with expiration date.

I think that's a good thing, too, because nowadays a 120-year-old can drive around with his driver's license from the Empire. If the license has an expiration date, then an eye test is required at least every 15 years.

That should be pretty widespread in Germany, here in Austria almost no one has nen identity card. Either passport or identity card.

I also think it's smart that driver's licenses now have an expiration date for traffic safety. But that is not my question. My driver's license is from 2006 and has no expiration date. So even if he had one, he would still be in the 15 year expiration period

I just don't understand why some casinos demand this so vehemently, while it is no problem to verify oneself with payment providers and some big casinos. ID card is still an ID card. Expiration date or not. And we know in Europe that not a single driver's license had an expiration date before 2013

Update: The driver's license has now been accepted after the explanation regarding the non-existent expiration date
