Hello Community,
i was recently looking for an online casino. So I signed up with three casinos to look at everything there and to try out the mobile client. I then found a casino (LeoVegas) and decided against Mr.Green and 888. So I thought I'd delete my account with Mr.Green again. According to the EU Data Protection Act / self-determination of my personal data, any data processing company is obliged to delete my data upon request.
I did not find a way to delete my account at Mr.Green. So I wrote to the support and got the following message:
Hello XXX, thank you very much for contacting Mr.Green. If I may, I would like you to tell us your reasons for closing the account. I need to inquire about it to know if it is reasons regarding Gambling addiction or not. If you wish to close your account because you feel that you are not in control of your gambling behavior, we will have to suspend your Mr Green account for at least 6 months. As a complete deletion of your account is not possible, we ask you to select one of the 3 closure options
Self-exclusion - If you are not in control of your gaming behavior, we will have to suspend your account for at least 6 months. I would ask you to notify us of this as soon as possible. Your account will not reopen automatically in this case.
Take a break - This option provides you with a temporary account closure for any period between 24 hours and 6 weeks. Your account will reopen automatically after the specified time.
Temporary Closure - This option suspends the account until the time you decide to return. Then simply contact our customer service who can reopen your account.
If you do not contact us back, your account will remain temporarily closed until you contact us and mention one of the above options.
None of the three reasons come into question for me, as there is no gambling addiction. I understand of course that casinos have high requirements because of gambling addicts. But that I can not simply delete my account contradicts my legal understanding. What do you say? I just can not imagine that my right to self-determination of my personal data is completely undermined, just because it is a casino? What is your opinion on this?
Why do I want to delete accounts in the first place? The fact that I wanted to delete my account again unfortunately does not come from nowhere. I get since the registrations SMS spam for casinos, as well as massive email spam, which includes Lovescam. The email address is burned, the SMS spam has fortunately settled again.
Only option: I enter fantasy data everywhere in the profile, and then have the account blocked. That worked.

Hi !
I was told by the casinos that they have to keep the data for 5 years. That would be the legal situation.
