Since it seems that more and more players in this forum assume that the RTP is just made up, I thought I'd try it out. I have tested the whole thing with play money and I am aware that this will lead to criticism. Why I will not test the whole thing with real money I will explain below. But now first to the result of the whole thing:
I played Book of Dead on 1€ bet. In total I did 2000 spins, each in steps of 100, so 20 x 100 spins.
The RTP of each 100 spins:
So I could not reach the theoretical RTP of about 96%. However, "only" 2000 spins are of course not representative either. If I had stopped earlier, for example after 1000 spins, my RTP would have been over 100%. If I had continued playing, it would still have fluctuated and at some point it would have approached and reached 96%. But that's also the tricky thing about RTP. Players usually calculate their RTP when they have reached the 0€ mark. Then it is only logical that this is very low. The next time they play, they start all over again. Usually players go broke before they reach the RTP. Even if they win at some point, this does not undo all the old losses. So only those who have a lot of money and play a lot will eventually reach that 96% RTP. But because the person doing this has a lot of money, he has probably lost more in numbers than other players, despite some MegaWins which have corrected his RTP.
i have achieved between 22.5% and 452%. These are enormous fluctuations. It is noticeable that a RTP% of under 100% was reached much more often than one above. The 452% alone corrects strongly upwards and even these would be in numbers "only" 452€ win.
The reason why I don't want to try this with real money, not even on 10ct stake: When I play for real money then I usually make myself comfortable with a big coffee and a bar of chocolate in front of the computer and play whatever I feel like. Of course I get excited, stand up when I win or get angry, but in the end it was just a game. I don't want to sit there, count rounds, calculate percentages, and at the end list what I've actually won. That has nothing to do with the fun of the game, from that moment on it's all about the money. I can advise everyone to really only use the money for gambling that they would also invest in another hobby.
A small experiment on RTP
