WSOP
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is the most prestigious poker Tournament series in the world. The tournament series has been held once a year in the gambling metropolis of Las Vegas since 1970. Overall, the WSOP consists of numerous different events with different buy-ins and poker formats. In addition to the prize money, the best poker players also receive a coveted WSOP bracelet.
All interested players can participate in the WSOP, provided they can afford the respective buy-in and are at least 21 years old. After the WSOP was held at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas from 1970 to 2004, the venue changed to the nearby Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in 2005. From 2022, the WSOP is then scheduled to be held for the first time at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. Incidentally, since 2020, the World Series of Poker Online has been held once a year as a result of the global Corona pandemic on various poker platforms.
In the past, Germans have already been successful in three cases at the WSOP Main Event. In 2011, Pius Heinz won an amount of about 8.7 million US dollars as the WSOP winner. A few years later, the Germans Hossein Ensan (ten million US dollars) and Koray Aldemir (eight million US dollars) also won.
