Win line
Each Slot machine usually has several paylines. These are lines where the Player can get a win if a matching combination of symbols is seen on that exact line. Players will only receive a winning payout if the matching winning symbols are seen on one of the paylines. For this reason, paylines are one of the most important features of a slot machine.
Usually, most paylines require that the matching symbols are displayed from left to right respectively. The principle is that the more identical symbols are displayed on a line, the higher the win. As a rule, players can flexibly choose the number of paylines in slot machines. To do this, you can select either more or fewer lines using the corresponding field (e.g. +/-). With the vast majority of slots, after a corresponding click, it is displayed directly on the winning reels which winning line is omitted or added. Most of the online slots currently offer between 20 and 30 paylines.
Paylines can have the most diverse patterns on the slot reels. For example, a straight or diagonal course from left to right is common. However, a zigzag course or a completely random course from top to bottom is also possible. Usually, players make their bets per payline at a time.
Example: If a player selects ten active paylines and chooses a Bet of 0.05 euros per payline, then the total bet per spin is accordingly 0.50 euros (10x 0.05 euros).
So, if you increase the number of paylines (to the maximum), you will naturally win much more often than someone who plays with only very few lines. However, it is important to note that with more paylines, smaller wins tend to be earned more often. Instead, the wins are usually higher with fewer lines, as this results in a higher bet per line.
Not all Slot machines have paylines. For example, there are slot games without reels, which consequently have no paylines. These include Jammin' Jars and Reactoonz.
