Virtual Sports
So-called virtual sports are electronic games that are completely independent of reality. Here, invented teams can compete against each other and spectators can follow the game comfortably from home on their PC or smartphone. From here, there is the possibility to place one or more bets on the game before it starts. A characteristic feature of virtual sports is that the entire game is generated by the computer. In some cases, complete leagues with teams and players are generated digitally. Each team has its own strengths and weaknesses, so that bettors can make a prediction in advance as to which team will win the game. Unlike "real" sporting events, however, virtual Sports uses a Random Number Generator to determine the outcome of each match based on the parameters entered. Accordingly, the participating users do not need any knowledge about the teams or players here.
In most cases, players can start the desired sports event for themselves at any time. The course of the game is then visually displayed in a short film so that it can be checked directly whether one has won or lost. In many cases, the game only lasts about one minute instead of 90 minutes like a "real" soccer match. These fast game cycles increase the dynamics and thus also the thrill for the spectators.
The stakes are usually variable, so both recreational players and high rollers should get their money's worth. Since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, virtual sports have experienced a real boom, as "real" sports matches could not take place for a longer period of time. Most virtual sports can be found in the soccer, horse racing, motor sports, tennis and baseball sections.
