The term cold streak refers to a prolonged series of losses. This is always the subjective perception of a player. There are no exact requirements that have to be fulfilled in order to be able to speak of a cold streak. Instead, the player's perception of being in a losing streak is sufficient.
The opposite of a cold streak is the so-called hot streak. This is a sustained series of wins over a longer period of time. Both win and loss streaks occur much more frequently in mathematical models than you might think.
Tip: If you have some time left over, you can start your own experiment and, for example, flip a coin 200 to 300 times and mentally set it to "heads". You will be surprised how often a cold streak or a hot streak occurs.
